Hello fellow animal lovers, I’m sorry you need this content.

Losing your four legged family is so difficult, I’m genuinely sorry for your loss whether it just happened, or is approaching. About a million of us go through this each year, that doesn’t make it easier, but know that you are not alone. If you need to learn the basics of pet cremation, I recommend you read the post titled The Basics of Cremation.

If you are seeking pet cremation costs in the Las Vegas area, you have access to traditional flame based cremation, and a pet cemetery.

The Las Vegas metro area is huge in population, boasting nearly 3 million residents, and is by far the largest city in Nevada. This area has an average cost of living, a stat that is certainly helped by the very low taxes in Nevada. It is pet friendly, kinda. There are major hotels and restaurants that welcome your pet, but it cannot be ignored that much of the outdoors is difficult to access when the temperatures are extreme part of the year. Also, your dog being welcome crated in a casino hotel room does little for that pet, or the pets of actual residents.

My goal is to provide you with empowering consumer information, not to advertise for anyone, or malign their business, so no names will be used, but it isn't difficult to figure out an individual business if you wish to. I'll be reviewing 4 of the communities offerings today.

Location 1, northeast area- This business offers classic flame based cremation and burial. Private cremations include several urn choices, and ink paw print and fur clipping. Communal cremations do not return ashes, they are scattered in the sea.

Pet burial in a vault is about 900 and includes perpetual care. A granite headstones can be bought starting at 580, but is not required. This represents an excellent value, most places burying a pet is far more expensive and expensive add ons are required.

Location 2, southeast area- This business offers classic flame based cremation, either individual or communal. The prices for individual do include a simple urn, plaster foot cast and fur clipping. It sounds like they don't wan't to do home pick ups, but otherwise were kind on the phone.

Communal Cat 70 Medium dog 80 Large dog 115

Location 3, central- This business offers traditional cremation, either private or communal. The prices include an ink paw print and fur clipping. These prices include a simple can, but nicer urns can be had for 50 more. They seemed to excel at customer service and speed, offering same day pickup for 50 for most of the city.

Communal Cat 35 Medium dog 35 Large dog 35

Location 4, also central- This business offers traditional cremation, and is the communities luxury option. The will pick up 24 hours a day, and also deliver remains to you after services are completed. They provide an urn, paw print, and fur clipping as well. Note that there is not communal option, everything is premium.

Summary

The Las Vegas area is relatively compact, has an average cost of living, is mostly composed of regular people, with few folks who demand a luxury experience from all areas of life, including pet cremation.

-Overall, this area is pick up friendly, perhaps in part due to it's compact size.

-Communal cremation is very reasonable here, and the costs vary widely. Depending on your goals, a few minutes on the phone can save you a couple hundred dollars.

-A private cremation for a cat will likely cost between $135 - 395

-A private cremation for a medium size dog will likely cost between $160 - 395

-A private cremation for a large dog will likely cost between $215 - 450

-Communal cremation runs 35- 115 depending on size

Sometimes people are in a rush to make cremation or funeral decisions. Slow down. Consider your options carefully, once you make these choices, there is no going back. Your four legged family will be fine lying in state at home for a day or two if that’s what it takes to do this right. You can check out this page for an eBook on how to have a pet funeral at home.
